DEVELOPMENT WORKFORCE TRANSPORTATION

Boss Lady Economic Planning Development Workforce Transportation was created by Dr Pam Chatman aka Boss Lady to help Families with resources that assist them with fighting poverty in the Mississippi Delta which is a Nonprofit organization. In 2018 a partnership was created with Boss Lady, Delta Bus Lines and FedEx Express at the Hub in Memphis Tn providing substantial job opportunities to rural families across several communities across the delta. Providing over 1000 plus workforce transportation jobs with “Free” transportation to and from FedEx Express and FedEx Ground. These jobs provided applicants who were once homeless and struggling to take care of their families to now provide sustainable incomes with benefits to provide them with providing better living conditions such as housing, food and health. From there she and her team worked towards to helping families with food insecurity in Rural communities. A partnership was created to provide healthy food boxes in over 40 plus cities across the state of Mississippi through partnership and funding from Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi. With their support of their organization and Keith Fulcher we have been to assist communities and families in every walk of life by providing them with food, clothing, sports equipment, school supplies, disaster assistance, community emergency assistance, housing repair, propane assistance And PPE equipment. Through the support of Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi we were able to provide communities with transportation logistics and food to those communities, cities, and counties that were in need during the pandemic to get food boxes. We later expanded to assisting families with Rental Assistance with Mississippi Home Corporation to provide services to those families who were being evicted or struggling to pay their rent in effort to stop them from being evicted from their homes. We later formed partnerships with stores like Dollar General, Walmart, Cato’s to form a partnership to assist families who were in a crisis who needed personal items such as clothing, household goods and food which was donated to distribute. Finding resources was the key to help families in time of need. Entergy Mississippi heard about all of the different community out reach projects we were doing and decided to partner up. Working with Entergy they have assisted us with workforce development, power to care assistant for the elderly and the disabled, community outreach projects, energy efficiency kits, and aiding families who are in a crisis. Boss Lady as she is known formed a partnership with Coca Cola out of Atlanta to be an ambassador for one of their global initiatives called Coca-Cola 5by20. The initiative was created to help women in the Southeast with entrepreneurs skills, professional development and other initiatives that teaches and empower women to go after their dreams and goals in life to better themselves. In Which later she created and birth a new initiative called BossGiving which is a community 18 wheeler distribution project providing communities with over $125,000 (value) housing, food and clothing merchandise from companies like Amazon that travel to the Mississippi delta from National organizations. With these donations we have been able to feed and give over 2000 plus for Thanksgiving and over 1300 plus with toys during Christmas.

Building a partnership with State and National organizations was necessary due to the large community request of assistance for resources for children in the area. Save the Children and I decided to join forces. They are are a state and national organization which assist with helping children, families and schools across the state with school supplies, books, healthy food, fresh fruits and vegetables, clothing and host of other services to support their needs.

All of our services are designed to help families across Rural Mississippi Delta who are in need of assistance and opportunities to help them improve themselves with the help of sustainable resources. We worked everyday 10 to 12hrs a day helping and assisting families across the Mississippi Delta with Resources and better opportunities during a crisis or critical need. Many of her projects have been supported by state and National assistance from organizations like Walton Foundation, Kellogg Foundation and the Foundation of Mid South. She is being called “The Mother Teresa” of the Delta by one of her funder who funds many of her community outreach efforts due to her willingness and passion to serve families.
